The Oleantangy Orange Girls Soccer team ended their season 5-7-4. They had a tough schedule facing some of the best teams in the state.
The girls started off their season with a rivalry game against Olentangy. The girls put up a hard battle and tied 1-1, with Freshman Chloe Theobold scoring the lone goal. The girls dominated Granville 7-0 days later with a majority of the girls scoring. Continuing, the girls had a challenging loss against Delaware Hayes 1-3. Then, the girls faced Gahanna Lincoln winning 3-0. Senior Captain, Emma Sanderow, scored 2 of the goals for the Pioneers and Sophomore Morgan Bower scored the other. Sophomore Keeper Anna Camphausen had back to back shutout games.
After many away games, the girls had their home opener versus Pickerington North. They tied 3-3 in a competitive match where they came back in the final minutes of the game with Sophomore Stella Albrecht scoring the tying goal. Senior Emma Sanderow and Freshman Chloe Theobold scored the following goals. A few days later, the girls had an unfortunate loss 0-2 to Olentangy Berlin.
On the road again, the girls had a thrilling victory over New Albany 2-1. When down 1-0, Sophomore Stella Albrecht scored to tie up the game. Junior Sallie Peters scored the winning goal. The following week, the girls tied 3-3 versus Hilliard Davidson. Freshman Chloe Theobald scored the first goal of the game. Then, Sophomore Stella Albrecht finished a goal to tie the game up. Junior Sallie Peters scored the final goal to put the Neers ahead, however Hilliard Davidson tied the game up. The Pioneers fought hard in a match against Springboro, however they lost 1-2. Senior Cat Szasz scored the lone goal. The Neers continued, playing an aggressive game against Coffman, but lost 0-3. The Neers bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Lexington. Freshman Chloe Theobold had 1 goal, and Senior Sadie Thompson scored 2 goals. Additionally, Senior Sadie Thompson won Player of the Game.
As the regular season was coming to an end, the girls had some tough matches. On Senior Night, the girls lost 0-1 to one of their rivals, Upper Arlington. Later that week, the girls faced Westerville Central. Sophomore Stella Albrecht scored a PK to bring back the Neers. Junior Jenna Frase scored a header goal to tie up the game in the last few seconds of the half. The second half was canceled because of the weather, ending the game in a 2-2 tie. Continuing, the Neers secured a major OCC win against Hilliard Bradley, winning 2-1. Freshman Chloe Theobold scored both of the goals. The girls took on Olentangy Liberty for their final home game. Unfortunately, the girls lost 2-3, with Chloe Theobold scoring both goals. In the girls final regular season match, they had a tough 0-1 loss against Bishop Watterson.
In the post season, the girls faced Pickerington North (again) in the District-Semifinals. The girls battled for 90 minutes, however they fell short of qualifying with a 0-1 loss. Although the season ended earlier than expected, the girls fought hard the entire season.
