Boys Soccer 2025 Season Recap

This season boys soccer had a record of 8 wins 6 losses and 3 ties. The boys started the season facing Bishop Waterson, after a hard battle on the field they fell short 3-4. They then tied Dublin Jerome, after back and forth possession on the ball. Their first win took place against Gahanna Lincoln with Junior Jude Osei scoring and Junior Seth Tedla finishing the ball for the game winner. After this win they then faced the Berlin Bears, where the other team’s goalkeeper finished the ball off of a free kick to win the game. They then traveled to Pickerington North where they finished on a loss. Their first league game occurred away vs Hilliard Davidson where after a hard challenge they ended up losing 1-0. They then faced Franklin Heights where they defeated them 12-0. With Sophomore Larry Chickawaka scoring a hat-trick, and most of the boys scoring a goal to help the team with the victory. After their 12-0 win they then faced St. Edwards where they kept their winning streak alive and won 6-1. Senior Jacob Ames had a hat trick, Senior Jeffery Addo scored two goals, and Senior Spenser Arledge had a goal all to help the neers with the win. Another win was gained for the neers against Dublin Coffman where Senior Spencer Arledge had 2 goals, Junior Seth Tedla, Junior Ethan Wiser, Senior Griffin Zavislak, and Senior Jeffrey Addo all scored one goal to help put the neers 6-2 over Jerome. They then faced Upper Arlington where they battled hard but lost 3-0. They then faced a hard loss against Westerville Central where Junior Ethan Weiser scored, but the boys ended up losing 2-1. They then faced Whitehall where they took the win 9-0 with Junior Seth Tedla scoring a hat trick. Juniors Noah Hines, and Jude Osei also scored. With freshman Larry Chikwaya, and Seniors Jeffrey Addo and Sam Leanez finishing to help secure the dominant victory over Whitehall. Senior Jeffery Addo scored 2 goals and had 2 assists. He also earned the Pioneers a PK with Senior Brayden Bursh finishing it. Juniors Seth Tedla, Jude Osei, Rohan Seelan and Noah Hines, along with Sophomore Larry Chikwaya, each scored a goal for the Neers. They next faced Olentangy where they battled hard on their home turf and ended up in tying 1-1 with Senior Jeffrey Addo assisting Junior Noah Hines for the pioneer goal. They then faced Centennial where Evan Forshey scored the lone goal to help the neers secure the win of 1-0. Next, they played Olentangy Liberty where they tied with the score being 2-2. Junior Ethan Weiser scored with Senior Jakob Ames assisting. As well as, Junior Seth Tedla scored to help tie up the game.Their last in season game took place against Canal Winchester where they took the 5-1 win where Sophomore Larry Chikwaya, Juniors Rohan Seelan, Noah Hines, and Seniors Jakob Ames all scored.

After the regular season ended, the boys headed to the OHSAA tournament where in the first round they had a bi and were guaranteed a spot in the district finals. They rematched Gahanna Lincoln on October 22nd for the second time. This was an intense matchup between both teams with Gahanna leading 3-0 with 30 minutes left in the second half. Junior Seth Tedla scored the boys first goal to begin the comeback. Then with 3 minutes left senior Jakob Ames scored to make the match 2-3. With under a minute left, Gahanna’s goalkeeper received a red card rewarding Orange with the PK. Senior Jeffrey Addo scored the PK to tie the game with 17 seconds left. They then headed to overtime with Junior Jude Osei scoring a header goal off of a free kick to secure the District Championship for the pioneers. In Regional Semi-Finals the boys faced Olentangy Berlin where they previously lost to 1-0 in the regular season. To secure the win, Senior Spenser Aldredge took the corner, and lofted the ball to Junior Seth Tedla who headed the ball in the goal to secure the victory over Berlin. This qualified them for Regional Finals. Their next opponent was Dublin Jerome where they fought hard but lost 3-0. Dublin Jerome then continued their run in the tournament and won the state championship.

Senior Jeffrey Addo received athlete of the week for the week September 8th to the 14th for his outstanding performance. He led the team in goals at week 2 of athlete of the week with a total of 5 goals. He scored 2 goals this weekend against St. Edwards and a goal in the 12-0 victory against Franklin Heights. Our last athlete of the week for boys soccer was Junior Seth Tedla for the week of September 29th through October 5th. For the week Seth scored a total of 4 goals including a hat-trick in the game against Whitehall. He also had 4 assists throughout the week.

Overall the boys had a great season with many upsets and challenges. They battled in each game and played for one another every single time they stepped onto the field.
